I have several multi disc sets that were stretched by using single layered DVDs instead of DVD 9s. Various Adult Swim sets and the most recent Family Guy come to mind. I don't think number of discs will be a factor as long as an entire movie fits on one disc.
The PC arena is where the storage of Blu Ray will be a big deal.

I agree with darkside... the studio's will still do multi-disc releases as it looks to be a better value. I have a few sets that were on 3 or more discs that could've easily fit on 1 or 2 discs without any extra compression. I even have a few 2-disc releases that could've fit easily on 1 disc (ie. Punch-Drunk Love)
The studio's love to put things on 2 or more discs... it allows them to price higher and it draws the customer in.

I for one, welcome the day when I can have my entire home video library neatly lined up in matching slimcases along my shelves.
Assuming the quality of playback is equalled and the catalogue titles are handeled competently amongst both parties, give me the more convenient format with higher storage capacity and potential for easier integated 'upgrade' in future do to extra accommodation any day...
If every single title ever issued on DVD saw re-release in a high-def format with vastly superior quality and hopefully minus some of the early flaws seen relating to transfer and aspect ratios etc... and was offered each in individual slimcase packaging with full-sized original artwork to conveniently line-up on shelves - that would be my HT dream fullfilled.

I would love for everything to be slim cases as well as I definitely have space issues. However, I don't think the studios have any intention of doing this. If anything the packaging is just getting tackier with HD DVD and Blu-ray.
