Not bothering until there's one format. But this is DAMN tempting.

Damn...At $500 I was tempted, but this is torture. I will remain strong though.

I'm definitely going to take advantage of this deal, plus I have a $125.00 mail in rebate for any Toshiba product.

That is exactly the way I feel. I was planning on waiting until there looks to be a clear winner or a dual format player. At this price, I am very tempted. The only thing that is holding me back, is wanting to wait for a region free player.

I think I might just order it now, and then cancel it later if I have doubts.

I got an order in, and by the time I got home, the order was cancelled. I may call and complain, saying this was an instore order, and I was talked into waiting or preordering by an associate.

Oh well.

LOL! The rep really played dumb. I asked if the order could be reinstated and she said it would be at a higher price. Oh well. Anyone else order and get cancelled?

I ordered around an hour ago and mine's still alive and kickin', although I'm really not expecting it to last much longer.

Might be a really hot deal for those of you who are jumping in at the start. Hell, I am almost tempted at that price.
Anyone find out if this was true?

Yes, it was. I got it for that price in-store at lunchtime today and apparently Adam Tyner got in on it also. But from what i have heard, it is coming up at full price again now. So the deal is apparently dead.

In fact, between here and AVS, yours is the only one I have seen get canceled.

[DARTH VADER]NOOOOOOOOOOOOO![/DARTH VADER]

I wonder if these will sell fast when first released. If not, I'll wait for a cnet review before I think about taking the plunge.

I know what will happen. I'll walk into Best Buy and see one on the shelf and talk myself into getting it without reading anything.

Threadcrap removed.

Incidentally, referring to the post I just removed, Samsung has since announced that they're not releasing a universal player, at least not anytime soon.

AAARRGGG! I don't want to hear that. Now I need to call and fight. I also think they hit my credit card for the amount right away rather than when it ships.

They do some kinda pre-authorization on the card right away. I noticed it on my card because i couldnt figure out why my available balance was lower than it should be and when i did the math it was the exact amount of the purchase at BB.

$341 shipped.

Unfortunately I heard on another forum that these orders are beginning to get cancelled.

I pre-ordered the Toshiba HD-XA1 from Crutchfield. (Free shipping + a $50 off promo code)
