Digital Bits states that New Line will be announcing shortly (within a day or so) the HiDef discs they will release

It maybe a pipe dream but I'd sure luv 'The Lord of the Rings Trilogy' in HiDef ...

Actually, I've already compiled these and all of the other announced titles from various sources, and you're in luck:

The R1 HD-DVD/Blu-Ray List

I've been maintaining this list since last year's CES, to help people avoid double dipping. Needless to say, after months of inactivity I've been updating it a lot in the last 24 hours!

I understand there are a few more announcements on the way, but feel free to steer me to any I might have missed or misclassified. I know Warners is straddling the fence and showing a mild preference for HD-DVD, but I went ahead and classified all of theirs as both - since they will, in theory, eventually offer both. Maybe just not day and date for the early ones.

Excellent List! I'm going to try to throw together a "One & Only" thread tonight sometime, and I'll be sure to have a link to your list.

In most cases, they came straight from a press release. I did dig up a few titles from other sources, including online merchant listings. But I've seen several news reports cite LotR as a lock.
