More blantant discussion of bootleg DVDs and yet again, the thread is still open:

I wonder when DVDTalk will actually get serious about curtailing the discussion of bootlegs?

Johnny,
The thread you reference is a discussion of bootlegs where people aren't talking about where to buy them or how to get them, rather how they feel about them and if they have them.
At this point I see no reason to close the thread, but I will keep my eyes on it.

What is this guys problem? Is JohnnyR the new Bootleg Czar or something?
To me it seems like someone has a hard on for the HTF and is trying to impose their standars on a completely different forum.

Go over to Home Theater Forum and post a thread discussing Star Wars bootleg DVDs. They would close it in a matter of hours, not days.

I don't see any reason for people to not discuss bootlegs. When i ws a kid I would head to the village after school and load up on LP bootlegs, then tapes, then cds. Now we live in an age where the ability to communicate on shared interests is greatly broadened. We should be able to talk about this stuff here. If geoff doesn't want people to post specific links to buy boots that's one thing, but sharing information about them, their good and bad sides, can't hurt.
