Ever since I got a DVD-Audio player last month, I have been annoyed at the extreme lack of info there is on this new format on the net. I'm starting a petition to ask Kleinman to start a forum for discussions of DVD-Audio. Who's with me?

Thanks Steve. I did a search, but I didn't come up with that one (because I searched for DVD-Audio in the subject). So I see that you are like minded to myself. Yes the format is still very small, and I think this is exactly why DVD Talk should seize the opportunity to be one of the first sites to have a discussion forum about it.

Maybe call the forum "Audio DVD" so it also includes discussion of SACD and encourages debate about the two formats?

At any rate, I think it is a good idea. It's also a very confusing topic to many people and a discussion forum would help.

I agree. DVD Audio is such a major improvement over CDs (like DVD video over VHS) that it has a more than reasonable chance to make it as a new standard.
PS Don't even start on mp3. It's a totally different format and in NO way comparable.
So my vote is PRO. Let's be pioneers ! [Cujo13]

I'd be for it if theres enough support. I don't think that many people are in to DVD-Audio yet though. IMO opinion it and Super CD's or whatever they're called are going to flop. It will take a more significant improvement over cd's that what these offer to get the average consumer to buy in. It will take something that offers as much an improvement over cd's as cd's offered over cassettes. CD's are going to be the main format for a long, long time IMO. Still people here tend to be earlier adopters, so there might be enough interest, I doubt it though. For now I'd just post DVD-Audio topics in the Home Theater Hardware forum, as thats where you'll likely find people who have already taken the plunge.

I'd be interested in seeing a forum on this topic. I have delved into a few DTS CDs and was very impressed by the 5.1 mixes. DVD Audio is appealing but I need more info.
