Image & Signature Limits
As the OHMC nears I am again reminded that the limits on both images in post and characters in signatures are too low.
Can we raise those? Even going from 60 to 75 would help with images. With signature I recently tried reworking mine actually dropping down to just Horror challenges and spending tabs and even that came up too long for the system, and there is where my signature has been stuck for the last 2 years or so. |

Re: Image & Signature Limits
Do signatures even show up on the mobile browser? I don't think I know how to enable them, if they can.

The issue with raising the image limit is that you can crash a page, especially if you're on mobile. I'll see about the signature size. That might have been truncated at some point with a site update.

Re: Image & Signature Limits
I, too, am having signature size issues - and it's a new thing. I had no problems with the Sci-Fi challenge but it won't let me change it for the Horror one. Even if I remove the entire line with the Sci-Fi list link it says it's too long when I try to save it.

Re: Image & Signature Limits
I believe I changed it to 1,000 characters, not including BBCode.

Re: Image & Signature Limits
Here's the error I get:
I don't think it's a length thing unless the links are causing the parser to think there are more lines than there are (the "implicitly wrapped" bit). |
Re: Image & Signature Limits
And I found the issue. It seems the new "improved" editor was adding an extra, unseen, line *every time the signature was edited*! Just like it does if you use spoiler tags. I went into "source" and then saw what was going on. So... another example of the failure of the new editor to perform better...

Re: Image & Signature Limits
Every time I edit my horror challenge list I have to remove dozens of extra lines. I miss the old days.

EDIT: Do you mean at the bottom of your sig? |
Re: Image & Signature Limits
So, why can’t I edit my signature? It says I have too many lines. Can’t be more than 5. I have 2. Even if I save current signature which thankfully remains in tact, it tells me over limit. I just want to change the written line. To something shorter even. Can’t even change a smilie. Anything I can do? Thx.

Re: Image & Signature Limits
did it IB. looked different, but got same thing when try to adjust slightly..."Your signature contains too many lines and must be shortened. You may only have up to 5 line(s). Long text may have been implicitly wrapped, causing it to be counted as multiple lines."

Re: Image & Signature Limits
You had "hidden" lines beneath your text. Delete those before changing anything and it should work.

Re: Image & Signature Limits
What do you mean by “hidden”? If there hidden how can I see? but seriously…
