Editing polls?

Is it even remotely feasible to be able to add a feature where you can edit a poll in a thread you make? Or remove a bad poll and re-do it?

It's happened to me on numerous occasions where I would create a poll, but would misspell something or forget to add a choice, which would basically make the poll worthless.

Any thoughts about this?

Re: Editing polls?

Unfortunately, the way it is now is that if you have the power to edit a poll, you ALSO have the ability to edit the votes. The best way around this right now is to simply report your own OP and ask a mod or admin to edit the poll. Or just PM an admin with a link to the poll.

Re: Editing polls?

I've done that before and was told admins can't do it?

That'd be weird. Give me a poll example and I'll have a look-see.

Re: Editing polls?

I don't know if there are limitations, but when I click on 'Edit Poll' in the ongoing one in the Sports forum, it loads the form. It looks like it's working, anyway.

Re: Editing polls?

At this time only admins have the rights to edit polls.

Re: Editing polls?

I can see locking edits after someone votes being a good thing. Sure, one might say they’ll only fix typos or add choices or whatever, but the power to make it appear people support something they don’t shouldn’t be in play.

Re: Editing polls?

If it were possible, it should be for a limited time only. Say up to 30 minutes after posting the thread. It's not fair to change a poll after dozens of people have voted and might want to change their vote if given a chance.
