You literally post this more than everyone else combined. And in the main Trump thread several of us were discussing the distinction between Nazis and American fascism.

If we’re asking people to retire snowflake and but her emails, can we also ask people to retire the “you’re calling me a Nazi because I support Trump” stuff too?

Well, as I said... We don't have a huge problem of that... yet. But we have absolutely had a handful of those types show up, skirting that line between following the rules and trolling and it took longer than expected for them to catch a ban. All I was saying was that limiting the ability of new folks to post in Politics would deter those types that we've already seen in limited quantities. :shrug: but to say "it isn't even happening" is wrong.

I don't mind the open disagreement, but I find the frequent needling that is designed to "trigger" a response in other people to be annoying and unpleasant to read.

As for more mods, I am sure you know best, but is it true that a very small number of people cause the most trouble? If so, banning them seems better than adding mods. We don't appear to have more users, just more troublemakers :)

I agree, but I also don't believe people who respond to the "trigger" with should have free passes to commit personal attacks. It's fine to penalize those doing the needling, as long as the penalties are applied evenly. Anything else, at the risk of oversimplifying, amounts to giving in to the playground level "He made me do it!" defense.

Trump is a fascist. Those who are actively defend him are actively defending a fascist. At a certain point the distinction between defending a fascist and being a fascist becomes academic. If that upsets you, maybe you shouldn’t defend Trump. :shrug:

While I wouldn't say that trump literally wants to exterminate those people (yet), I don't think anyone has actually said so, but he has said and implemented things against those people. So I would like to see your reply that repudiates that actual things trump and his supporters say and do. Fecicious question, because trump and his supporters have actually said and done such things.

I mentioned this on the Trump thread, and I agree that we should have an explanation/clarification about the term. Just to follow the guidelines and prevent any suspension., by the way.

So the President of the United States mocks the disabled, attacks women and minorities, gives disparaging nicknames to anyone who opposes him, lies constantly about the most easily proveable facts and works to divide everyone into us vs them and people are surprised that has carried over into political discussions?

How are we supposed to have calm and mature political conversations when the subject of many of those conversations is an unhinged liar?
