I was just thinking the opposite: that it could revitalize the forum. It should always have it's home theater/media roots, but expansions like this could bring in fresh faces.

If not, then kill it.

The forum needs some change.

No, no we do not. Additional forum differentiation on a forum with declining activity is a remarkably bad idea. We should be combining forums.

So long as threads stay remotely on-topic, it is not onerous at all to pick and choose the threads you have interest in an open just those. The days of 3+ pages of updated threads per day left us during the Clinton administration.

I'm content searching through old Fantasy Island threads to find recipes, why aren't you?

With 47 threads and 6,519 posts, it's already a slam dunk! A home run! A puck in the net! A hole in one! A touchdown! A sweep!

I just had another idea. We could rebrand the entire site 'Pizza Talk'!

It be a great place to discuss NFL players kneeling during the National Anthem.

I’ve tried fried tarantula in Cambodia, and honestly, it wasn’t bad, crispy, kinda like soft-shell crab. Also had balut (fertilized duck egg) in the Philippines, which was a bit intense but tasty if you don’t think too hard about it.

This poster joined in 2017 and the food forum brought them back to posting again. Success!

agreed on both accounts.

and it's really weird to have the "Up early/late smoking a pig" thread to not be in Other.

And possibly "DVD Bargains" and "Blu-ray Bargains" into "DVD, Blu-ray, & 4K / Ultra HD Blu-ray Bargains" or something like that.

Go for it

Re: Can we have a food sub-forum?

One question. I see The Fast Food Thread and Hot Sauce Thread at the top of the other forum wouldn;t those threads be moved over to the Food Forum? That would be a good way to keep traffic going over to the Food Forum.

Bluelitespecial 04-24-25 08:32 AM

Re: Can we have a food sub-forum?

Will all food related threads in the other forum be moved over to the Food Sub-forum? I think that's needed in order to keep the web traffic going to that forum otherwise what's the point of having it.

Meathead 04-24-25 09:30 AM

Re: Can we have a food sub-forum?

Didn't realize Hot Sauces were so controversial! It moved straight to the Religion, Politics and World Events forum. ;)

Re: Can we have a food sub-forum?

Not meaning to make it a big deal about it Im just wondering when old food topics get bumped in the other forum will they be moved to the food subforum?

Meathead 04-24-25 09:39 AM

Re: Can we have a food sub-forum?

As the cola thread moved to the food forum wouldn't the beer thread also qualify?
