For what it's worth, I've had very few issues the last 48 hours. Hoping that's because work has been done on the issue.
I would prefer the redirects stop though. |

I haven't seen anyone besides you mention problems with the desktop version of the site. Maybe you're just lucky.

Re: Ads redirecting on mobile
Well let me ask you this, do you browse the forum without being logged in? Because I never do that, and I don't even get ads of any kind on the desktop site.
|
Re: Ads redirecting on mobile
Why would a user that uses a desktop not have an ad-blocker?
I don't get it? There are dozens of ways to protect yourself from malicious ads. Why browse the web naked? |

It's only happened a couple times, and I visit several times a week, but it HAS happened. |

Re: Ads redirecting on mobile
Not sure which of the two ads was the offender (I sometimes suspect it may just be the ad service itself), so I tried to get a screenshot showing both after getting a screenshot of only one..

Re: Ads redirecting on mobile
At least 2 or 3 times every time I visit the site there are redirects. I am not screenshot-ing all of them. I am catching some of them. I am trying not to capture duplicates. Here is a new one. Would someone please fix this for us.

Re: Ads redirecting on mobile
If anyone at IB needs more captures, I can provide them from iPhone. I'm not posting them unsolicited anymore since this PROBLEM seems to fall on deaf ears. I only tried once again because of the other problem where the default randomly changes from desktop site back to mobile sometimes.
The mobile site is unusable. |

Re: Ads redirecting on mobile
I don't use an ad blocker on desktop, never really felt the need to. As for redirects though, never had an issue on desktop with Chrome either and i'm on the site multiple times a day.
Mobile is practically unusable though, and pretty ridiculous that it's been a problem for this long. |
Re: Ads redirecting on mobile
Getting nailed by many of the same ads I've been reporting these last few weeks. If you are doing something about it, whatever action you are taking isn't working yet.

Re: Ads redirecting on mobile
Hi guys,
I'm well aware of the difficulty of the mobile site. I spent 90min yesterday doing testing for our tech team. And you are correct, our former approach wasn't working. At this point, we are looking into some 3rd party options. |
Re: Ads redirecting on mobile
Well, I guess that's something. I hope you guys finally figure out a course of action to take. It's literally been a year and half though, so please make sure you follow through.

Re: Ads redirecting on mobile
Google pushed a Chrome update this week that stops Ad redirects on Android devices and Firefox didn't have the same issue. So uh rejoice!

Re: Ads redirecting on mobile
Amazingly I have not gotten any pop ups on my Android device today.
|
Re: Ads redirecting on mobile
The lack of popups has me curious. Was it a fix to the site or was it the update to Android Chrome?

Re: Ads redirecting on mobile
Quiet for a few days and then bam at least 1 a day for the last few days...

Re: Ads redirecting on mobile
Good news for those that browse with Chrome. On the 15th Chrome will block all ads that are not compliant with the Better Ads Standard:

Re: Ads redirecting on mobile
Only 10 more days to wait... If it helps once it's implemented...
|
Re: Ads redirecting on mobile
Just happened on my S7. I was on the TV talk forum page, but not actively browsing (I'd set my phone down). When I picked it up it had a "warning" about a virus. I've also seen the Amazon ads screenshotted above too.

Been a couple weeks but it seems this was able to sneak through ...

Re: Ads redirecting on mobile
Been on the forum twice today and so far twice today popup blocker stopped redirects. I hope the quiet was supposed to last more than 2 weeks....

Re: Ads redirecting on mobile
I am seeing a pattern here. It is the same ad that seems to be outsmarting.

Re: Ads redirecting on mobile
This site was ridiculous with that Amazon redirect. The site would literally redirect on mobile the second you opened it to spam sites.
|
Re: Ads redirecting on mobile
Fuck this one. Getting it regularly, even when trying to post in this thread.

Re: Ads redirecting on mobile
Safari on iOS has been completely unusable the last few days, almost every thread click creates a hijaak. Chrome doing ok so far.
