Why Would This Thread Be Closed?

This thread that I started in "Other Talk" - "Religion, Politics and World Events" was closed.

http://forum.dvdtalk.com/religion-po...nal-boner.html

As far as I can tell, it violated no forum rules. If it did, can someone please explain why.

Thanks!

Re: Why Would This Thread Be Closed?

We don't have an Adult Forum anymore, and this thread could easily stretch the bounds of what's allowed here, if its title doesn't do so already.

Re: Why Would This Thread Be Closed?

That is an utterly ridiculous reason to close that thread.

It's about an amusing religious belief not porn.

Re: Why Would This Thread Be Closed?

So prophesizing what people might post is a reason to close a thread?

If the whole point of moderating this forum is to prevent people from posting something out-of-line before they ever actually do it, why not just go ahead and shut the whole forum down to safeguard that? After all, there's nothing safer to preventing out-of-line postings than having no forum at all.

A thread should never be closed based just on what you think someone "might" post.

I also found it odd that it would be locked. We have all kinds of "Teacher poked a student Version 23" threads that maintain order and stay open, but this one was locked after about five posts?

Re: Why Would This Thread Be Closed?

Probably poor choice of thread title. Had the OP been a little less crude, it most likely would have stayed open.

OK, that makes some sense, but they should have either changed it or told the OP about it. I'm all about equal opportunities to laugh about all religions, and I'd hate to see us handling Islam with kid gloves.
