I want to preface this by saying I have no personal problem with the person who posted the thread I'm about to reference; in fact, I consider them a friend. Also, I'm not offended in the least by the content found in the link they posted. Lastly, in discussing this topic, I would like it to be known that it's not my wish nor intention to get anyone in trouble, whether by suspension or otherwise.

That being said:

A couple of years ago in an existing thread which I did not start, I simply posted a link to a website which contained a tasteful professional black and white photo of a nude model, which I labeled as NSFW, and I was subsequently suspended.

Today, we see the start of a thread specifically for the purpose of discussing a lewd gangbang mural featuring comic book superheroes, and the linked website contains a picture of the topic of discussion in all its glory.

I would just like to know, is there a double standard here? Why is one thing okay and one is not? How is Wonder Woman surrounded and penetrated by cartoon super-sausage acceptable, and an artistic photograph is not?

Again, not trying to complain about the posted content directly, and I don't wish to see it removed. Hell, I think the shit is hilarious. Let's talk and joke about it until we're out of breath and our craniums implode. I just want to know about the apparent double standard, if it exists.

I agree with you 100 percent...not only is the link against the rules here, but someone's actually posted the photo in the thread now.

I also agree with you about your link...there's a big difference between a 'tasteful' nude photo and a graphic image, which this superhero photo clearly is.

Well, the person who posted the photo (haven't seen who yet) should be suspended...

edit: Yep, definitely suspend... he even posted a ridiculous assumption after the pic.

I'm sure the mods have not seen the pic in the thread yet.

Damn, I was hoping the forum was moving towards more leniency with the NSFW stuff.

I'd hope the quick/automatic suspensions were a thing of the past given the controversy a little while ago. Although I don't see the big deal about linking to a NSFW thing for sake of discussion.

Linking should be fine, as long as there's some value to a discussion. But, if you're just linking to porn and it's obvious that it's just porn and not "art", well...

Posting the actual image in the thread, though? It's not necessary. Serves no purpose.

Yes, I would say it is progress that someone isn't immediately suspended. Removing the link and telling them not to do it again seems fine by me.

You can't post nude pictures or link to nude pictures, which this thread did. Pharoh has removed the violating links and pics. If the thread can have a discussion without violating this rule,

• No threads of an explicit sexual nature.

I suppose it can stay. Some of the language in the thread is getting questionable already though.

If we weren't allowed to link to Jen Lawrence pics during "The Fappening," we should never be allowed to link to NSFW pics here, ever. Those were the holy grail of NSFW pictures.

If that thread bothers people, shouldn't they just avoid it? That was basically the response I got when I questioned the Political Cartoon thread.

Agreed. I would personally have let it be, especially as it was a painting.
