Premium Preview Weekend?

Any chance of getting some free preview of what it's like to buy Premium? It might get some users to sign up if they could see what they'd be paying for first.

As a former premium member, I can assure you there's not much worth seeing. I'm honestly surprised that the premium memberships even exist still. It's not like its ever really mentioned anymore.

Re: Premium Preview Weekend?

I've won a couple of BDs and DVDs in contests this year that were available to premium members.

Re: Premium Preview Weekend?

I'm not here to sell the benefits but recall that there's a thread somewhere that lists the extras that are available to premium members. Although the premium forum is one of those extras it's really something that depends on the members/contributors. To my way of thinking, a weekend's access to that forum would be as worthwhile/persuasive as granting avatars or upping PM storage space for an equivalent period. But, as indicated, I'm neither lobbying for nor against. IB folk do look in here from time to time and will do as they think best.

Re: Premium Preview Weekend?

The only real perk is the extra contests. Take out the monthly contests and the Political Film Forum is more active.

I doubt if anyone is willing to pay for avatars or increased PM space. I think the Premium Forum could be renamed People-Who-Forgot-To-Cancel-Premium Forum.

I joined for the promised "more benefits to come". Still waiting.

I think people that run challenges should get increased PM space

I don't know about the other guys but mine always fills up when that time comes around.

Hee hee: I was going to say "Imagine your account with an avatar plus access to a forum that no one posts on" and that would sum it up.

I'd like to have an avatar (like, you know, almost every other forum out there), but I ain't paying $20 for it.

^It's $10. There's always a coupon.

I'm still waiting for the broken user countdown to be fixed that someone reported over a month ago. You'd think being we pay for this 'premium' service fixing one of the few perks we get would be a high priority. Guess not.

Re: Premium Preview Weekend?

Maybe they couldn't come up with ideas at the time. The only thing I could think of was some form of online movie collection database but based on how well everything else is working around here, I think that project is a little too big to take on.

Re: Premium Preview Weekend?

How about an iPhone app for premium members?

Weird that it was mentioned that IB people look in here from "time to time." You'd think they'd be more active in their business.

Re: Premium Preview Weekend?

I vote no to the idea of a free preview. It will only diminish the value for those of us who pay for it.
