Questionable signature wording

A user has "5:00: Bitch Raping Time" in his signature:
http://forum.dvdtalk.com/members/jje-187.html

Is that allowed?

re: Questionable signature wording

It is a "Predators" quote, but I do agree it's not the best thing for a sig, but again, a lot of stuff I think is out of line is allowed to flourish.

re: Questionable signature wording

If it were derogatory toward a particular group of people we might have a problem with it. But I'll have to ask if there are any issues concerning professed declarations of beastiality.

re: Questionable signature wording

I don't think we are allowed to have those nasty words in thread titles, though. Shh....

I find it highly offensive. Everybody knows you shouldn't rape a bitch before 6:30.

Why was the thread title changed but the sig is allowed?

There's a rule regarding profanity in thread titles. I assume there is either no such rule regarding profanity in signatures or the mods/admins are discussing the situation.

Because of this little guy that's in the Forum Rules:

Wow...I'm surprised all this teasing/baiting is being allowed. I think he has a point, actually.

What they said, and, to be fair, this is something that you could have thought about/researched personally rather than essentially challenging here.

I have to say that I wasn't hugely impressed to see the original thread title at my workplace and initially wondered whether you'd actually decided to flout the rules in order to make your point about a sig with which you had an issue. If this is unduly harsh, I apologise, but I've become used to such envelope-pushing and maybe sometimes see it where it doesn't exist.

I'm closing this now as the discussion isn't going anywhere useful. We'll get back to you should a decision need to be made about sig material. I'm assuming that it will because, based on past experience, there will be a core of members who'll view this as an opportunity to be edgy and take things as far as possible. If any such folk are reading this now... please resist the temptation.
