TeeFury Tees thread in Other

Just curious...

Is this kind of thread really appropriate for Other? Isn't it essentially an ad for another site? And, as I stated in the thread, would it be acceptable to also have a thread for Woot, 1saleaday, ThingFling, or any of the other sites that change daily? Wouldn't Other get a bit radiculos?

And also, why is the thread not in the Store Forum (or as I like to call it, the Storum)?

Although I love the thread, I agree. It belongs in the Storum. Otherwise, rename it to "Random Picture Thread of Tshirts that happen to be from Teefury.com"

I vote to keep it. There are far lesser threads that are kept open in Other. Much far lesser.

I like the thread in other as a discusision on the designs... Not as an ad to sell or even really to push the store.

I agree completely. I haven't bought one of the shirts, and not even sure if I plan to, but I've visited the thread a couple of times just to see the comments to the different designs.

Hey, I don't mind the thread either. In fact, I check it more days than I don't. But still, I think it's rather ridiculous to have rules that are only arbitrarily enforced, and fora that exist for a specific reason yet aren't utilized when the perfect opportunity comes along.

To be fair, it's sort of a "catch all" thread, as shirts are posted from various sites -- not just TeeFury.

To be even more fair, it's still called "TeeFury Tees".

I was always under the impression that the TeeFury thread was for discussion of designs and stuff. Was it started (or is mostly driven) by someone with a financial interest? There are rules against self-promotion, but I haven't gotten the vibe at all that this is the case here.

I started it, just for fun, I have no link to them whatsoever, just thought it would be a fun thread to have for people to enjoy the designs of their shirts as well as any others.

OK, come on, let's not play all innocent.
Thought I'd be cool to have a thread dedicated to showing what shirts this website has every day if people are interested. I really liked the LOST shirt from Tuesday and the one for Thursday is kinda cool too. Their shirts are only available for 24 hours, so there's a new one every day for those who aren't familiar with the site.

www.teefury.com
Now, I don't believe you are a shill, but if a newb had posted this OP, what do you think would have been the reaction here? You created a thread to specifically showcase (though, again, I doubt for financial gain) what is for sale, every day, at another site. Reading through the thread, it's pretty clear that a lot of traffic has been steered to that site, and a lot of sales have been generated.

But whatever...it's pretty obvious that the mods or IB don't have a problem with it, so more power to you...and it. All hail the TeeFury Tees thread!

There's a rule against shilling, but you agree that that's not the case here. What rule do you think he's violating that the mods and IB ought to be cracking down on? It's a really active conversation, and plenty of people are contributing. I honestly don't get any sense of spam-spam-spam from this at all.

By saying "let's not play all innocent", you're basically accusing the guy of shilling, but then in the next breath you claim you're not. I don't know what the point of all this is.

Re: TeeFury Tees thread in Other

I emailed TeeFury and asked what their going rate was to shill their site on Internet forums. The figure they cited was $4834.56.

Do whatever you want with the thread, I could really care less, I just thought it was a fun idea. Close it, leave it open, throw in threadless and teemagnet if you like. :P
