Log-in / password problems with different browsers / platforms
I had some major log-in problems just now.
Password wouldn't work, was definitely typing it in correctly, no caps lock problem. Even after resetting my password I kept getting the same error.
Finally working with the new password on my phone here.
Will hopefully be able to get in on the desktop soon and see what happened.

More research shows that it appears to be a glitch or setting change on my workstation here at work. I can log-in on other computers, just not where I'm sitting.
It's strange, because it's worked fine forever, including all day yesterday, and the night shift person wouldn't know how to change any IE or computer setting.
I've played with settings, rebooted, downloaded windows updates, but still get the invalid password error on this one workstation. Not a keyboard problem, all keys work fine.
What the heck am I supposed to do all day at work now?

So I'm still having this problem.
I can log-in fine everywhere except on one windows PC at work, with IE8 as the only allowed browser. It worked fine on this PC a week or so ago, and all my other websites allow log-ins fine.
I don't think this is me being an idiot, but some IE8 setting. Any ideas? Maybe I should put this in tech talk....

Password / log-in problems with different browsers
My username/password works fine in Firefox. The exact same username/password combination in Chrome is not valid.

Re: I can log in using FireFox, but not in Chrome
I was having the same problem for a while, and then all of a sudden it starting working in Chrome.

I've been receiving a number of reports from members regarding this but until this weekend had not experienced it personally.
However, on Saturday, logging in from another location, with another ISP and using a later version of Internet Explorer, I found that I could not get the DVDTalk forums to accept my password.
It has been years since anything quite like this has happened to me but, thinking back, I closed down all windows barring one, went into Tools: Internet Options: Delete Cookies (and for good measure I deleted my history and files) and then closed IE.
When I reloaded and attempted a log-in I was successful.
I am assuming that there is a similar procedure for other browsers.
I've no real idea why the problem actually happens. When I had such problems in years gone by, IIRC it used to be something to do with an ISP's proxy/cache arrangements reacting badly to one's browser &/or the particular site being visited. As such, I'd imagine that it is pretty hard to fix at the web site end.
But anyway, clearing cookies and the like worked for me and I hope that it'll work for the vast majority of those afflicted with the occasional/unexpected problem.

Yah! I'm not crazy. Clearing cookies/etc didn't work for me, but luckily I haven't had to use that workstation since February.

Yeah, I have this problem sometimes at work. Never at home, just at work. It tells me I'm entering the wrong username or password when I know I'm entering the right ones. And sometimes it lets me in with no problem.
