In the past year or so I have gotten 3 private messages from different members, each time I have noticed the message 12 days after it was sent; I have replied each time but have never gotten a reply from any of them.

So I was wondering if there was an issue. I think it might be possible that I just neglected to see all 3 messages for almost two weeks, but I could have sworn that I have checked! And I can't explain why none of them had written back.

Anybody else having issues?

Lateralus, I got your message. While I'm flattered by your offer, I felt the best thing to do was simply ignore it and hope you figured it out on your own.

It took me awhile but I finally got it, but I'll keep you in mind for next time.

So you're saying that the PM section in the upper right of every forum page was showing you as having zero PMs? Even when one was there for 12 days? And what about the email? You're supposed to get an email notification the instant a PM is sent.

Related, I see that read receipts are an option on PMs. Never clicked them on, do they work,anyone?

As far as I know it showed zero emails, it is possible I overlooked all 3 PM's for two weeks but I'm sure I would have noticed them.

I don't know what to think, everything seems fine! I guess I will be more vigilat in checking to see if I have PM's!

No problem.

I think the first time I got a PM I didn't notice for a few log-ins, as my mind wasn't used to looking in the spot the PM notifications are put in. The bolding makes them stand out pretty well too, not sure how I missed that the first few times. I think it's a "train the brain" thing. Subtle new things are often easy to miss; but once we figure them out we'll see them right away from now on.

Read receipt seemed to work fine. It comes up as a sort of secondary PM box.
