Question about DVD/Blu-ray reviews sites
Hello I'm new here
,
since I'm personally interested to do it one for my country I've always wondered what's "the secret" beyond it.
The possibilities according to me are:
1) you have to be VERY rich. It's impossible to buy hundreds (or thousands?) of titles every month to review them.
2) you receive samples from studios in exchange of reviewing them and so produce some kind of free-promotion.
There are a lot of sites I'm referring to, like this site , dvdbeaver, cinemasquid, blu-ray.com ect. that have also bitrates detailed so they must own the disc to that.
Any help? Thank you.

i vaguely understand your question. as i understand it, the studios send it to you free if you're a qualified reviewer.
i think the admins could clarify on this, they should know more on it.

Once you have a bit of a readership and have enough of a body of work to show that you can turn things out well and reasonably quickly, start tracking down some of the studios' PR folks in your neck of the woods. Send them links to your site, highlight some of your favorite reviews you've written, and make a case why they should go to the trouble of sending you review copies. Their goal at the end of the day is to spread the word of whatever they're pushing that week, so you'll want to angle your pitch more towards your readership than your gifts as a writer.

sure, he's personally interested in doing "it" for his country, since he wants to know what happens after he does "it".
