Dear Geoff, You're Outta Here

One of the ways company can be measured is how it treats its founders. My Thanksgiving present from IB was to be stripped of all my Admin/Mod access.

Classy:

Please let me know if you have any questions or anything. Brent Conver, the head of Business Development, is also a resource I know you've had contact with.

thank you,

That's kinda UN-Thanksgiving-ish. Why would they even worry about your permissions in the first place.

Please don't take this the wrong way G!, but... you expected that this particular faceless meglo-corporation that you sold the site to to be different than every other faceless meglo-corporation out there how exactly?

Right.

And no offense, but it seems to make sense to me. Don't really see any reason why it matters to have Admin/Mod access either.

I think is just common courtesy to let the founder of the site have some type of Adm/Mod status, even if he is not in power anymore. No Geoff is just another member like all of us. I agree with Geoff that is not very nice what IB did and the way they did it. With this and the removal of X-Critc/Adult Talk, I can see why Geoff would be angry.

I agree with d_s, but that is something I would have discussed pre-signature. Deciding to do it randomly....kind of bush league.

It makes complete sense.

On another note, it really comes off as kinda sour-grapes that you're complaining about it, especially since you seem to flaunt the whole "I founded this place and deserve respect!!!" mantra lately. Yeah, you did, but you sold it and are no longer associated with it. Simple as that.

Also, is it any more classy than posting a private message for all to see?

I believe Geoff's post is on-topic for Feedback and, as is the case with any member, Geoff has the right to post his thoughts here.

However, it seems to me that this thread is going nowhere fast and I cannot sit idly by while various folk come by to mock and ridicule - even if they are of the belief* that they are in possession of the facts of the matter and in a position to make an informed judgement.

Closing thread.

(*mistaken).
