Actually you are -- you're trying to lead a movement to remove a subforum that other people enjoy for no reason other than the fact that you were probably bored one day and felt that you should be the forum's official housekeeper.

There's really no reason to get rid of it. It's not harming the forum.

If anything we need a new forum to dump all the "OMFG THE DARK NIGHT IS BEST MOVIE EVER BECAUSE HEATH DIED" posts in Movie Talk.

Everything I ever needed to know about craps....I learned from El Scorcho! I also learned that you can put a handle (of your own) liquor on the BlackJack table in Vegas...and somehow not get kicked out.

If the powers that be see the Vegas forum as yet another family unfriendly component of DVD Talk, we're happy to inherit it over at XCritic.

Tons more responses, maybe. But would they be quality responses? The people that post there regularly do so, because they gamble and/or go to Vegas regularly. I'd trust about 5 or 6 people in that thread with information about gambling/Vegas related topics far more than all of Other combined.

what do you care? are you paying for bandwidth? the subforum is a way to keep TV/Other less cluttered with the topics that are posted in the Vegas forum.

Maybe, but glancing over there you see things like the Vegas Show Review thread with only 7 posts. I'm sure tons more have valid comments on what shows they liked/disliked. I used to check that forum once in awhile since I like Vegas and have gone a dozen times, but the way it is now I don't think there are enough "regulars" to get a good opinion on some things if a thread started in Other and was moved over there.

Yes, way to completely pick one example of what true gamblers don't want and use that to make your point.

When it comes to gambling/Vegas talk, the forum is valid and there are quite a few people in that forum that have consistently given great information.

What do "true" gamblers have to do with anything? It's a Vegas/Poker forum, not just a Gambling forum

I don't really care if it stays, and I agree it was a lot busier when it first was created. I'm just saying that these days its as busy as the DVDStalk sub forum

If you don't care if it's here or not and if you don't post there, i'm not sure why you'd have an opinion on it.

I said I visit there once in awhile since I have an interest in Las Vegas and go a couple times a year., and have posted a couple times. Besides, it's not very hard to have an opinion on a general topic on the usage of a subforum. Sheesh. No need to get all butt hurt about something you barely use.

We're talking the last few months though where traffic and posts have bottomed out though. Outside of the single WSOP thread, even the regulars don't have much to say.

It's all kind of irrelevant since pilot already said he doesn't see why it should go.

oh, so posting in there equals use. so if i browse the forum and read the threads and get information, that's not use. gotcha.

Huh? You're the one that mentioned how many times you've posted in there, not me.

And since there hasn't been that many new threads recently, are you just re-reading the same thing over and over again then?

I don't even get what you're trying to argue with me about and why you have an issue with my opinion on something that involves the forum. Sheesh.

Again, still wondering why you care so much about my opinion and being so snarky about it since you believe it doesn't count.

just because there isn't a new thread, doesn't mean there isn't valuable information to be found there.

i care so much about your opinion, because you seem flippant about the forum apparently don't care if it is taken away. I care because it's worthwhile and valuable to many of us.

I had to look up the definition of flippant

I don't see how I've been flippant (lack of respect?) at all about the topic. It isn't as though the info in there would go away, just moved over to Other. It's always been my impression that sub forums are created when there's enough discussion to warrant the topic and not clutter up the main one, and maybe i'm blind but clearly that subforum isn't as booming as it was when it first started, hence my opinion. Not sure why that's invalid to you.

Obviously the handful of people that still post frequently about poker are going to want to keep it, and thus if it stays I wouldn't care.
