Content links started showing up for me today. Blocking
http://kona.kontera.com/javascript/lib/KonaLibInline.js
solved the problem.

Wow, that script even adds links to signatures.

Re: (I HATE) Contextual Advertising on DVD Talk

I'm using Firefox right now and I'm getting them.

If there is a list somewhere of people who don't like it, please add me to it.

Re: Contextual Advertising on DVD Talk

I just started seeing these yesterday. I'm usually able to adjust to changes but I'm not sure about this one. If they are here to stay, it would certainly help if they were significantly different than links. I'll try to not be too cynical and assume the similarity is not intentional.

IB: I try not to complain too much but these are a bit out of hand. As a matter of fact, I'm looking one in the toolbar at the top of my text box. "Fonts" is showing up as a contextual ad.

Also it looks like ContentLink needs to work on the "contextual" part.

Re: Contextual Advertising on DVD Talk

Very strange. I have never, at any point, seen these. Not even when it was supposedly hitting everyone.

Re: Contextual Advertising on DVD Talk

It only lasted two or three days when I was getting them.

They must be rotating them around amongst the members so there aren't a flood of complaints all at once. They wouldn't want a complete revolt.

Doing that totally worked.

I checked my processed, and nothing there. Then I searched for it to block it in regedit, but it wasnt there either. Then I did a file search and zilch.. no programs, no cookies.

Then I found this post and success!!! YaY!

This just started showing up for me yesterday or the day before. Don't know how I've never had them before if other people have been seeing them, but I positively hate it.

Will see if I can block it.

Re: Contextual Advertising on DVD Talk

Tried blocking within IE8 settings but to no avail. Am I doing this wrong, do I need to do this within Windows Firewall? Thanks for any help.

Re: Contextual Advertising on DVD Talk

I did finally see two contextual ads within a single post. No other contextual ads anywhere else.

Re: Contextual Advertising on DVD Talk

logging in using my wife's new laptop...and see these all over, sometimes 5-10 in a given page. She uses firefox, while I use Flock on my computer and don't see them at all.

it's very annoying...especially when I'm a premium user

Re: Contextual Advertising on DVD Talk

When I'm on a machine and not logged in, I see Google ads in the first post of a thread OVERLAYING the text so it is unreadable without logging in first. Is this intentional? (Safari 4.0)

Re: Contextual Advertising on DVD Talk

It's my understanding that due to the complaints, IB is switching to a new ad delivery service that seamlessly integrates the ads into your posts rather than WILLY'S TIRE WORLD IN PEORIA obnoxiously having the links and pop-ups.

Re: Contextual Advertising on DVD Talk

What the fuck? This shit is back, seriously? I refuse to visit a site where I have to wade through these. Side note, I'm reading on an iPhone and the text is small except for these GIANT, useless underlined words.

If you're wanting to kill off the community here, this is a great way to do it.
