Moratorium on the "Anniversary Edition SE 2-Disc DVD for 2008" threads?

Can we please halt all these threads on what we would like to see in 2008 or at least merge them into 1 thread. They all deal with the exact same topic just different anniversary years. It is all wishes and wants and we have so many "want SE DVD" for this and that in the forum already.

Not to mention so many listed and options already have or just came out with nice SE editions!

I am by no means one to halt thread making all together, but seeing now 8 threads on the same subject is so off-putting.

They are simply getting out of hand and can really be consolidated into one.

Please consider.

Well, I think they've done all the ones they can now (unless they did a 5th AE which would be ludicrous) and their popularity will fade, leaving them to die on their own. I just wish the choices on them would have been more well-thought out. On a couple, there were choices for SE's that already had either 2-disc (Body Snatchers '78, Philadelphia) or very good 1-disc (Animal House, Groundhog Day, etc) SE's available while titles severely in need of an upgrade (Buddy Holly Story) were ignored.

I agree that it is way out of hand, and was so when the 5th thread was posted.

You do realize that you just kind of added to it though.... LOL!

This should probably been posted in the Feedback section.

It would be better to use the "Report this post" process or post this in Feedback (where it'll probably be moved).

Get them merged or eliminate them. The DVD Talk forum is now becoming a fanboy wish list. And yes, this should be moved to the Feedback area.

What about a Fanboy Central subforum? Move those and any others that qualify as fanboy wishes there to keep this section as clutter free as possible. Of course, a Fanboy subforum would grow uncontrollably large so maybe that's not a viable option.

I say remove the polls and merge into one thread.

There has been much worse threads on the forum, take this one for example.

They're obviously popular, so leave it at that.

It's hilarious how annoyed some of you are by these posts... enough so to make certain that you post smarmy comments in each one I've looked at and then even start this thread. I don't really care for them either, but I have the sense not to click on them and read them if they don't interest me. Give it a try. They'll go away on their own, but if not then merging them wouldn't hurt.

I say forget about it. This fad too shall pass. (the posting of these many threads, that is...not the double dips.)

get rid of them.

who needs'em.

just open a topic about a specific movie and actually talk about it.
also talk about why it needs a special edition .

I tried that, but the mods ignored it and the threads kept multiplying.

I voted merge into one but honestly they are really easy to ignore so it's not that big a deal to me either way.

I say just ignore them, they'll disappear soon enough.
