Now cultshock is poking with dork? This thread is getting way too confusing...

My mod salary goes to pay for my $30 membership fee. Luckily it was the same amount, or I'd have to cough up some dough.

So can someone tell me what the point of the DVDTalk disclaimer is? What is it covering? Why do they need to tell me they are covering my $30 fee? I'm just curious.

No wonder Mike left. This forum is racist against non-Portlandians. I thought our country had moved past this. :(

Considering the title of the OP was so catchy " What you should know about this forum...", I'm disappointed how weak the actual body of his gripe was. He could have said a great many things (positive or negative) and left with his head held high but it all boiled down to a lack of truth in advertising as far as I'm concerned.

From my experience, what people should know about the forum (and website in general) is that:
1) It looks out for the consumer way beyond what most websites seem capable of.
2) It provides many invaluable tools to help those who join.
3) The overall quality of the membership is substantially higher than average.
4) The moderation isn't so heavy as to be oppressive OR so light to allow the bullies to reign unchallenged (the two most common problems elsewhere).

I could go on about it but I won't (too much to review today). There are plenty of forums for guys like Mike to embrace (mostly ones where manly men go to be manly with one another and butt heads or play "net lawyer" with the established rules). What I rarely understand is why someone so upset at how things are run acts like the forum is either a public domain that has to work under their understanding of the rules or why they stay around so long in the first place. It's not like there are no other forums around for him to destroy/weaken/pollute/crap all over or that someone put a gun to his head to participate...

Oh man, I can't believe I missed out on this fun :(

It's their reason why you're not allowed to surf this site with ad-blocking software.

Well, after reading his arguement, I'm convinced. See ya!

Wait...no I'm not. I love this place. Who am I kidding?

 <--- at him trying to convince others to leave.

Awwww. I'm gonna miss him.

:(

Packing my bags and moving to Portland...and there better be all nude strippers when I get there!

Just put a downpayment on a new home. I know, buying a house and moving across the country is a lot of work for stippers but if Geoff says so I'm there.

Maine is beautiful this time of year anyway...wait a minute...

Fok 03-31-07 02:47 AM

The place is already better without him
