You should only be able to edit your own posts. Only mods can edit the posts of others.I had the problem again this morning, for the umpteenth time, but was able to edit normally a few minutes ago. Weird.

The editing glitch seems to be getting worse. It used to be that I could once again edit the post in my thread after a few hours or by the next day. Now I am unable to edit it for the second day in a row. Most annoying.
The problem appears to be a size limitation on posts. I am also unable to post the information in a new thread in one post.

I was just able to get the "Preview Post" feature to work for the first time in a long time, but as soon as I hit the "Submit Reply" button, I got the same old error. This is getting very annoying.

^ By contrast, I have had better luck than usual getting my long post edited, including this morning. I think it has to do with DVD Talk traffic since times when the forums are slow tend to not have the glitch. But that is just a guess.

Hey Jordan, seems like you have the same problem as me with not being able to post new threads or reply (button icon disappeared). I can only post "quick replies". How'd you fix it?

Doh!! Hit this error yet again. Couldn't edit my bonus disc thread. Lost an hour or so of editing.
edit to add - Had used the Word trick in the past, but forgot about the problem. double doh!

The problem seems to depend on the length of the post. In the past, I've posted lists of over 400 DVDs available in a particular sale. Now, the preview shows a blank post if I list over 80.

^I'm surprised to find that you are still having trouble with long posts. The last few days I have been able to edit my long post normally (including this morning) and I was hoping that it meant that the bug was fixed. Guess not.

Well, all week long I haven't been able to quote anybody or edit any of my posts. Sometimes one random post in a thread will have the quote option. This is making posting here very annoying.

THIS is NOT the end-all-be-all solution to the problem... I've READ the FAQ's... I've attempted to do what it says, and the buttons still do not appear.
