You might want to read the Feedback Forum Frequently Asked Questions.

I can confirm that I am unable to edit Jordan Raup or lizard's posts as well.

 Not all of us are as talented as you, nor are we psychic enough to have the data we need to post days, weeks, or months in advance of its release...

 You should only be able to edit your own posts. Only mods can edit the posts of others.

I had the problem again this morning, for the umpteenth time, but was able to edit normally a few minutes ago. Weird.

JPRaup 03-13-07 10:58 PM

how do I go about allowing ads in firefox, I cant find it anywhere

JPRaup 03-13-07 11:20 PM

ok, I figured out I need Adblock Plus with firefox, im trying to whitelist the ad server, it STILL does not work....

JPRaup 03-13-07 11:24 PM

haha, well disabling my firewall did the trick!

Th0r S1mpson 03-14-07 01:13 AM

Okay, can edit Lizard and Jordan Raup's posts now. Must have been his firewall.

The editing glitch seems to be getting worse. It used to be that I could once again edit the post in my thread after a few hours or by the next day. Now I am unable to edit it for the second day in a row. Most annoying.

The problem appears to be a size limitation on posts. I am also unable to post the information in a new thread in one post.

I have the same problem as well and it's very irritating! With that said, Geoff is looking into this issue, so hopefully this will be resolved soon!

SkyDog 04-08-07 10:12 PM

I was just able to get the "Preview Post" feature to work for the first time in a long time, but as soon as I hit the "Submit Reply" button, I got the same old error. This is getting very annoying.

lizard 04-09-07 09:20 AM

^ By contrast, I have had better luck than usual getting my long post edited, including this morning. I think it has to do with DVD Talk traffic since times when the forums are slow tend to not have the glitch. But that is just a guess.

I have more luck editing my long posts during the mornings as well. Like what you said, I think this issue may have something to do with DVDTalk traffic as well.

Shilex 04-25-07 09:43 PM

Hey Jordan, seems like you have the same problem as me with not being able to post new threads or reply (button icon disappeared). I can only post "quick replies". How'd you fix it?

Shilex 04-25-07 10:00 PM

Nevermind Jordan. Found the problem. Damn Macafee and their ad blockers.

Trevor 05-19-07 10:58 AM

Doh!! Hit this error yet again. Couldn't edit my bonus disc thread. Lost an hour or so of editing.

edit to add - Had used the Word trick in the past, but forgot about the problem. double doh!

Sounds like a plan until this thing can be fixed.

mnementh 05-19-07 08:48 PM

The problem seems to depend on the length of the post. In the past, I've posted lists of over 400 DVDs available in a particular sale. Now, the preview shows a blank post if I list over 80.

The Valeyard 05-21-07 12:32 AM

Just checking in with the Slipcase Thread.

It makes me cry that I can't edit it.

lizard 05-21-07 11:28 AM

^I'm surprised to find that you are still having trouble with long posts. The last few days I have been able to edit my long post normally (including this morning) and I was hoping that it meant that the bug was fixed. Guess not.

The Valeyard 05-21-07 08:38 PM

I had trouble yesterday but was able to update the list just now.

Thanks.

Sessa17 05-25-07 05:06 PM

Well, all week long I haven't been able to quote anybody or edit any of my posts. Sometimes one random post in a thread will have the quote option. This is making posting here very annoying.

To repeat what crazyronin said in post 27 above:

You might want to read the Feedback Forum Frequently Asked Questions.

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

THIS is NOT the end-all-be-all solution to the problem... I've READ the FAQ's... I've attempted to do what it says, and the buttons still do not appear.
