The creator of a thread can close it?

I was just wondering if this was possible? If not maybe it would be a good idea? Just thought about it randomly, thought I would mention it here.

Yea, I remember there was a big thing a while back when Scott Shelton deleted a huge thread he had started after something didn't go his way.
