Why did this thread get locked?
http://forum.dvdtalk.com/showthread.php?t=469472
I don't usually care or question these things... but this one is now locked with no explanation and it seemed to be carrying on quite well. No personal attacks or arguing or anything of that nature. I don't see any rules being broken.

same question with my post..
https://forum.dvdtalk.com/showthread.php?p=7105345
i only just posted yesterday, & dont even get to respond..
i could understand if the post had gotten a month old & no replies,
but ONE day, & its closed?
what decides if a post should be closed?
im pretty sure i didnt break any rules, but if i did point them out..
this is actually more aggravating to me than youd think,
im new here, & in general i try to avoid forums..
but if theres some kinda thought police thing going on where
someone else decides what i have to say is worthless,
then im really reconsidering joining this forum..
just plain not a good start in my opinion..

Starting the same thread in two different forums is generally frowned upon. One would think you would have figured that out when the second thread was closed but the original one in the other forum was left open. Especially when you referred to the original in the second copy...
Starting the same thread again after one has been closed is even more frowned upon.

Hey Rabbit... first of all, I read your original thread, and I really, really have no idea what point you were trying to make. It seemed to be discussing taking advantage of a mispriced sales ad, which they frown upon here. I'm not sure, but you're definitely on the right track inquiring in the Feedback Forum. You can also e-mail a mod or admin, and they'll usually help you out.
One thing you never want to do is turn around and repost the contents of a locked thread. If a mod locked it unfairly, they can always unlock it, but circumventing a mod action is a bad, bad, bad idea.
Welcome to the forum! Honestly, we don't always walk around with a big stick stuck way up our ass.
Well, OK, maybe I do, but that's just for fun.

actually both threads are different..
the original thread is the longer one,
which is mostly my experience regarding the whole situation..
the 2nd was the 1st post, which was simply the relevant info
that people might care about, in a more relevant area..
i only posted the shorter one 1st because i wanted them both to link to each other,
(i guess im just weird like that) & i thought it would be easier
to just edit the shorter one to do that..
otherwise the longer one wouldve been 1st..
im a kind of person who likes to rant,
& ive learned that people dont typically like listening to me rant..
so the shorter post was mostly meant as a curtisy to those people,
as i wouldnt want to force anyone through my monotony..
im not sure exactly what you mean by 'frowned upon'.. is it against the rules or isnt it?
ill admit i only skimmed the rules till i found what i thought was the explanation..
but if something isnt against the rules, but merely frowned upon,
is it fair to take immediate action without warning?
i feel like ive been sent to a firing squad for jay walking..
i would also suggest that unexplained or unneccessary censorship is also frowned upon,
especially when the whole bussiness model of this forum is completely dependant upon the form of disscussion..
& if you think i should be banned for saying so, then id have to agree..
as for restarting the thread*..

i dont think i said anything at all about prices
other than pointing out that amazon was ripping people off,
& that part was mostly an off topic observation..
as for the misprints, i was pointing out that the promotional ad was false,
& i dont see how that could lead to me taking advantage of anyone..
if anything, i would have to buy 4 times as many qualifying items to get what was advertised,
& it took me a few days to learn it was a misprint..
my point was mostly a rant about my shopping experience,
which is what i thought this area of the forum was for..
"Store Forum / Share Your Shopping Experiences at Stores both Online and Off."
*i had no intention of circumventing a moderator,
i thought i figured out what i did wrong,
& i corrected it the only way i knew how..
maybe i came off as impatient or arrogant in doing so,
but like i said, i try to avoid forums..
& each one seems to have their own set of rules,
so what may seem common sense to everyone here,
shouldnt always be immediately expected of new members..
some places expect you to solve things yourself, the way i tried..
well, im not sure how to respond to welcome.. um 'hi' or something..?
on an up note, one of the cute girls at best buy was working
when i went to exchange superboy today.. ^^;

i do hate feeling ignored, & most forums give me that feeling,
you can guess why of course..
so when my post gets locked preventing people from responding,
from where i am, its like forcing them to ignore me..
& it feels malicious, but i know that its not..
(i do think callous would be an appropriate description though)
