Is it cool to have a donation link in my signature?

I'm riding the MS-150 ride (150 mile bike ride from Houston to Austin) and wanted to post my link for donations.

I figure it's fine, but wanted to ask in case I need to take it off.

We've had people create threads about these types of donations and it hasn't been fine. Generally soliciting donations to anything attributable to a particular person is not ok.

I'm not sure about the signature, but I tend to think it would be considered along the same line.

I appreciate your asking but I think it should be removed until you get a definitive answer.

I have the definitive answer for you and it is that our policy is no donation links in signatures.
