Who says it's right for other races to do it? Whether or not it seems other races do it doesn't give the "white people" a free ticket to do their own thing as well. Rise above that shit. It's racist and wrong for ANY race to preach seperatism, whether they're black, white, asian, or whatever. I can't believe I'm hearing this unbelievably retarded shit.

Nonhosonno 11-13-05 11:53 PM

If separatism is based on believing that one race is superior over another, than yes its racist. However, if separatism is based on the preservation of a culture, then no its not racist.

I realize you feel its 'retarded' to care about 1000s of years of history go down the toilet but a lot of people would beg to differ.

Also, if you'll pay attention to the media, there is an obvious anti-white slant to almost everything. There is also a very anti-white enviroment in todays schools and universities.

I hate being rude, but I think you're an idiot.

What the hell does culture have to do with race in 2005? There are many different races in every culture. I think we've learned a lot in 1000 years. Maybe they didn't make much progress in Atlanta, I don't know, I've never been there.

Nonhosonno 11-14-05 12:30 AM

LMAO.

*pats u on the head*

kind of like the double standard in Hollywood where it's okay to make fun and demonize Catholicisim but anything that is anti-Jewish in the slightest is a big no-no.

I think history has to be taken into context. If slavery had happened to white people and Catholics had suffered the Holocaust, then it would simply be the same thing......just the other way around. Political correctness exists for a reason (although it can go overboard easilly). Still, the point is (not directed at you) is that it hasn't been that long since those things happened, so it'll continue to be a sensitive subject for a while. It doesn't take much to sit back and say nothing (.....although people here often seem to think it's an attack at their free speech or whatever.)

Johny Boy, personal attacks are against forum rules. There's absolutely no good reason for this type of response.

Could you give some examples of the kind of anti-Jewish stuff you'd like to see more of?

The guys who support it are all racists. They tend to speak in terms of pollution, purity, and toilets. But I think you need to actually attack another race to be kicked off the forum. The separatists are usually pretty skilled at not quite crossing that 'out of bounds' line. Since DVDTalk tries not to ban people simply because they're unpleasant, but only for violation of the rules, it puts Geoff & Co. in a difficult spot.

Josh H 11-15-05 02:34 PM

Well, it's really up to Geoff. He could certainly ban such talk, as it's his forum

He already bans all talk of gun purchasing etc. as he's opposed to guns.

So I don't think he would be in a difficult spot if he banned this kind of discussion as well, and honestly 99% of the membership would probably strongly support it.

uberjoe 11-15-05 02:58 PM

How about this post?

Not racist, but def bigoted. Is there some sort of forum rule about trying to denigrate someone by implying they're gay? I would hope so.

Josh H 11-15-05 03:06 PM

I see that more as implying people are wimpy, rather than gay.

I think it's a bit of a stretch to call that one a bigoted post.
