What exactly is the problem with this site? (Lag-wise)
It seems that quite frequently this site will simply stop responding to my browser requests (and I assume everyone else's). I'd say that at least three or four times a day, this entire site just seems like it's stuck in the mud, and you have to wait 30 seconds or longer for a page to finally appear. Meanwhile, every other site I click comes up immediately (just to confirm that it is not a problem on my end). Meanwhile, I'm left staring at the "Opening Page..." message with nothing else to do but reflect on my meaningless life. When the lag is really bad, I actually consider visiting other web pages!
So I ask, what is the problem? Obviously it is either server or ISP related, on the DVD Talk end. But why does it continue? Shouldn't you guys be getting better QoS from your ISP? If it's on the server side (do you maintain your own servers?), isn't there something that could be tweaked? It's not like this is a rinky-dink operation or anything, this is the mighty DVD Talk, for crying out loud!
Just curious.

I think I've noticed a few lags daily but haven't paid much attention to it. I guess it probably has something to do with the new ads - maybe something like a page won't load til it gets a reply from the ad server which can take a while.
Guess I'll do a tracert later.

Unfortunately the issues for the most part come out of growth. The traffic to the site and forum continue to increase and so we must also upgrade and increase our severs to support it.
Our tech guy has been working on this and we hope to have solution(s) in place soon.

Well maybe it takes a few days because it's been slow all day for me at least. Same problems as Numanoid.
