Closing a music thread because of a duplicate in Adult Talk?!

This thread on '80s teen pop star Debbie Gibson appearing in Playboy was closed because there is a duplicate thread in Adult Talk? That makes no sense to me. I could understand it if another thread existed in Other, but are the mods aware of the fact that:

1) Not everyone here is over 18
2) A lot of people don't go into Adult Talk, for obvious reasons?

Now, let's face it, this particular topic not being discussed in Music Talk is not the worst thing that's ever happened, but it seems like a very silly policy to expect people to go into Adult Talk in order to discuss something which is relevant to other areas.

(Not to mention that whomever closed it failed to remove a link to Adult Talk, which AFAIK is not allowed)

As well as being a duplicate thread, it contained little or no discussion of music. It was pretty much salacious chit chat and as such did no more than duplicate something that was being discussed elsewhere.

However, that said, thank you for your concern with regard to the under-18 DVDTalkers that might have wished to discuss the forthcoming Playboy but were unable so to do until you started the parallel thread in Music Talk.

Of course, I cannot speak for their parents....

"Salacious chit chat"...oh please. There were only 3 posts, one of which was a link to Adult Talk by a DVD Talk Reviewer! There wasn't time to have a discussion about music. And I would think the fact that yet another music personality is turning to Playboy in order to get back in the spotlight is an appropriate discussion for Music Talk.

Cute. You're right, I'm sure 17 year-olds have no opinion on whether it's appropriate to use a Playboy appearance as a vehicle to reclaim lost glory.

I also noticed you failed to mention anything about the second reason I listed.

I'm here for the salacious chit-chat.

Are you still confusing love with need?
