So when did we start advertising bootlegs?

In one of Turborob's cult TV playoff threads, there is a huge ad for the Six Million Dollar Man on DVD. Well, since the show is only out on disc in the UK, these are bootlegs (and expensive bootlegs, too)

The link:

What happened to the No Boots policy? Or are the standards around here slipping?

I think it's just part of the ad network Geoff uses. He doesn't pre-approve every single ad. Now that he knows, I'd imagine it'll be off shortly.

if it was a google ad (which it probably was)..I don't think they check to see if it's a legitimate business or not..I've seen those "$30 backup software" links on amazon's pages..but I'm sure Geoff can do something maybe...as I type this the banner above is for "Springsteen live bootlegs" ...

Mind you, isn't it partly to do with the terminology? I've seen products listed as 'official bootlegs' (which seem to be a little contractory). Bob Dylan even has a series of bootlegs available at Amazon.

This isn't a question of semantics or cheeky marketing. The Six Million link (and the Springsteen link in this thread) are for actual bootlegs. I think this needs to be addressed with Google.

Ah. OK - hadn't realised that. Sometimes the term bootlegs (in reference to advertising on banners) can sometimes be official ones.
