Any chance for a health and Fitness sub-forum ?
I mean they created a POKER subforum for petes sake!
Health and fitness and diet/weight loss would make a fairly decent subforum over in otterland. I would think as many people would be interested in that as poker - ?

around the first of the year.. everyone would post in there as they make their resolutions
about the 2nd of the year, it would die.. as everyone breaks their resolutions

Probably wouldn't get enough traffic here. Fitness type threads in sports talk die pretty quick.
If you want a decent one, check the Muscle and Fitness magazine forums. Not too bad. A few too many high school football player types, but some really knowledgeable older members as well.
I'd be interested to hear of some other good ones if anyone here knows of any.

Man, exercise on DVD Talk is tough.

There was an attempt to do a weekly fitness thread a few months ago. The first couple of weeks were great, lots of posters, lots of helpful information and support (except for one thirst-inducing poster who will remain unnamed).
And right after that, it completely fizzled.
There are fitness-minded folks here, but the demand for such a sub-forum is not high at the moment.

Must admit, I spend a bit of time at johnstonefitness.com, so a fitness subforum would be good (keep the ad revenue here). Still, that being said, it probably would be less popular than some of the other sub forums we have at the moment.

wouldn't bother me.
however, i'd also appreciate some recipie threads mingled in too. i'm getting tired of the boxes of Kraft mac & cheese that my girlfriend tosses at me when I tell her to cook..
and who says a forum needs to be "popular" to exist? cough*book talk*cough
