How do the new Ads work?
I mean, how does it know to post an add based on what is being talked about in the thread !? kinda cool -
Does it post an add based on key search words in the first post, or what??

Is it random or what !? i dont get it.
ive seen some that are random, and some that are related to the original post. some have nothing to do with movies or dvds, kinda like how sometimes on eBay it brings up a banner ad thats related to your search ?

They're google contextual ads. Google's system scans the page every so often and updates the ads for that page. This works with forum pages and everything else, so more often than not the page's ads reflect stuff related to the content of the page.
