Okay, this is complete and total bullshit, that didn't work.
Ya'll really need to fix this shit man. |
Okay, I think I may have figured this out. In FireFox you can change how long you want your cookie to stay, the default is 90 days. Well I put mine on 365 and closed FireFox then opened it back up and wala, I'm logged in.

network.cookie.lifetime.days Is that what you are referring to? |
It did not fix my problem.
|
IT WORKED! I turned the comp. off and restarted and WALA it stayed logged in.
Go to Preferences then go to Privacy and Security, then Cookies, check "Accept Cookies for ____ Days" Put in however many days and it might work. I hope it does for you. |

I'm using Mozilla, but I thought Mozilla and Firefox were the same program? Perhaps I'm using an updated version? It worked.
I deleted all my cookies first so that may have something to do with it. |
whoa! i guess I forgot to subscribe to this thread when I posted it and mistakenly assumed no one replied! I'm sorry so many other people are having the same problem I am. It is not just DVDTalk for me, but also AVSForum, TreoCentral, Mytreo.net, etc...
|
Since I changed the settings to 365 in about config it seems to keep me logged in now. Nevermind had to log in again. :(
|
I've been logged in since Sunday! w00t
Cleared all my cookies, then came back and it didn't work, then changed it to 365. Don't ask me why, but I've been logged in for days! |

Thank you my friend. |
still not fixed for me... :(

Still a problem here too. It seems completely random when it chooses to not remember me, which is the most annoying part.
|
Now, I cleared my cookies again and this time it worked. I have been logged in for 7 days now. I have even turned off my computer and stayed logged in.
Sorry to those that are still having problems. |
This might have nothing to do with why other people are having problems, but I just experienced this problem and figured out why. To do some unrelated testing, I set my computer's (OS) clock/calendar to 2025. Completely messed everything up.
Seems to almost be back under control now that I changed it back, but still had a few hiccups. |
I had this problems until a couple of days ago when I deleted all my cookies and temp files. Before that I tried to just delete the cookies registered to DVDTalk. I did it several times but it didn't work. I'm using Firefox.
|
Clearing all my cookies not just DVD talk fixed my problem with Firefox.
|
cleared all my cookies and temp files again yesterday, so far so good... *crosses fingers*

There is definitely an issue with WinXP and going into Standby for a few hours - not sure if this is new, but I didn't see it before the upgrade. After several tests, this seems to be what causes me to log in a bunch - Doesn't seem to be IE or Firefox related for me, I've tried both.
Geoff, is there a timeout setting in vBulletin, and if so, do you know what is it set to (at least for here)? This might help some. |

So far so good for me. Clearing the cookies helped in Firefox.
|
Nothing helps for me.
For the past 3 days, I have actually stayed logged in overnight. Then when I leave the site, then come back, I'm logged off. Weird. |
