Is search function working?

Or am I missing something? I was looking for threads on Dawn of the Dead-the remake and cannot find a single thread on it. I've searched for Dawn, Dead, zombie and romero. I have gotten nothing. I've searched the entire forums plus individual forums such as Movie talk, dvdtalk and dvd reviews. I'm pretty sure there was at least one thread concerning the theatrical release. I wonder if the forum move has something to do with this?

Still building? Because my usual search to find replies to my posts ain't working.

Usually I search for "Otto" in the last few days to see if anybody has replied to me anywhere. Because they always quote me and it'll say "Originally posted by Otto" and so that sort of vanity search is handy. Also lets me know who's talking smack about me.

Anyway, it ain't working, so I assume the index is just taking a *really* long time to build. Any progress report on this, or is it just "it'll be done when it's done and it could take forever" sort of thing?

Is it still going? I'm trying to search for "arcadia" in the TV forum and get NO results. I know there are posts there...

I had to stop the index as the load was getting to be too much. So, no, the search index isn't done.... I'll have it finish up over the weekend when the server load is lower.

Yes but it's not complete. Had issues so it's still short of being complete

Speaking of searching, I swear that last week I was clicking on the "Search" link and it took me to the advanced search page. Clicking on the arrow pulled down the quick search.

This doesn't appear to be the case now. Since I mainly search for my own username, I never use the quick search. I liked the one-click as opposed to a click to get the pulldown and a click on the advanced search link.

If its possible, can you run it so it starts with the most recent posts and works backwards? That would have been a much better way of going about it I would think since most people would be searching recent posts more than ones from a year or two ago.

I can do it in batches... But it might not be a bad idea to have it do the most recent first. Hopefully by the end of the weekend we'll all be good.

Didn't realize how much I used the search function until it stopped working. Hope it's back soon.

</small>Not all the new posts in the threads you've posted in will be replies to you but, if you were moved to post in the thread originally, maybe you'd still have an interest in the ongoing discussion.

Anyway, it wasn't meant to be a 100% conclusive solution; just an option/workaround.

Well, it seems that the new search functionality doesn't work the same way the old one did. Searching for my own name won't find the "Originally posted by Otto" in quoted replies anymore, so the search is now basically useless for what I was using it for before.
