it may not be a good idea that we can see the name of the last thread from ADULT talk while surfing in OTHER

thats a step towards getting non work friendly
this HAS to be fixed

you also see the title of the adult thread (if its most recent) when youre at the main forum index

that just wont work

I sent Geoff a link on how to remove the adult forum from the "view new post" results. He hasn't implimented it yet but I believe he plans to. I'll look around and find out if there's a way around having the latest thread displayed.

Ok, I figured out how to remove the title for the last thread in the adult forum. Just have to wait until I can get it to Geoff.

Either the new font or the layout of the forum pages make it really difficult to read.

Another vote against the blue bars between the posts. I'm having more trouble reading the threads, too, but not as much as the forums.

I'm not sure what the deal with the font is. Looks fine to me. We can probably figure it out but Geoff would actually have to change it.

Looking again, I'm pretty sure it's the underscore of every thread title that's making it hard for me to read the forums. Maybe if you thinned or eliminated the underscore . . .

I don't have underlined links on my forum. I'm not sure how Geoff feels about that. Still looks fine here though. I think there's probably another issue. If you post what browser/resolution you're using that would probably help him out later.

Not a fan of the ads. The quick reply shouldn't require a button click to use. I'ms ure there will be other complaints as the day rolls along.

I sent Geoff a message and asked that he disable the extra click for quick reply ASAP. I don't know if he's still up. Staying up all night upgrading is mentally draining. He may be napping.

You know, it is like I always say: once something becomes vastly popular and more people hop onto the proverbial bandwagon said something begins to suck. I recall when this place was ad free and a very enjoyable place to visit, the other forum especially. This was before the SUB-FORUM madness. IMO, the Other Forum still isn't fun despite certain implementations to make it so. The community feel of the forum, the small town'ness that attracted me to it in 2001, has been broken down slowly and this last step of the CHANGE is a big one. It is now like a MAJOR city in here with advertising and assholes all over the place. It seems that a lot of threads now break out into some silly argument and each night I am seeing scantly clad women in ads (okay, so maybe that last one isn't such a big deal ).

Anyway, just my two as a dude that's been here for awhile. As I said, things had been breaking down slowly but this change is like a wreaking ball to the forum and all these little pieces left reminding me how this place once ways, how it could be, are hidden by the new condo being built on the lot and all the crap that comes with it. Ebb and flow is the old line Geoff has used in the past but on viewing the site today I have to say there has been FAR TOO MUCH FLOW and the river it has created is polluted. One just needs to see the post difference in the WHAT WE LIKE and WHAT WE DON’T LIKE threads to know that.

Ok, another big complaint. The color of the links to click on for a thread are similar to the background color. Sure, they are underlined, but's it's too much freaking purple. That's not something I can change in IE, right?

Another vote against the blue bars between posts. The post date in white on blue is almost impossible for me to read unless I zoom the fonts up to much larger than I need to read the posts. If the blue bars stay, the post date needs to be enlarged, put in boldface, or both.

So guys. I was up till 3am with the upgrade on the forum. Now after 5 hrs sleep I'm back at it.

I know there are still things to address and I will address them. So be patient.

The issues which have been brought up so far:

1) The blue bars between posts are too dark. - That can be fixed
2) The last post title of adult is showing up on front page - I'll see what I can do to address that
3) Links/underlines are showing clearly - I'll see what we can do
4) Make it so quick reply does require another click - FIXED
5) Min post legnth is too long - FIXED
6) Ads under first post - It's something we're testing so bear with us
7) Search index isn't complete - Still building - has been since last night.

Please help by reporting bugs/errors as clearly as you can so we can address them.

Geoff - Actually what I sent you won't quite work. I forgot about them showing up on the main page too.

The easiest way to do it would be to follow my instructions but the Adult forum would have to be made it's own forum and not a sub-forum.

Why can't the post divider be dark blue with yellow text like the links at the top of the web page, or would that look too ugly?
