Deletion of posts
Hi, I had added a post to one of the STL request threads. When I bought the DVD, I deleted the post so that I would stop getting the email reply notifications... but they still keep on coming!!!
Is there something that I can do about it??
Thanks, Lar

OK.OK.
If I turn off all email notifications, then I lose the good (future posts) with the bad (STL's). Nice feature gone rabid.
Is this behavior (notifications even after one's post has been deleted) considered normal for a forum?
Maybe a warning in the STL forum and STL assistance page would be wise. The gift that keeps on giving.

Done. You posted. You are now subscribed. There is no setting that says "but if I delete a post, unsubscribe me."
See... you can subscribe to threads that you did not post in.
And the answer is that Email Reply Protection thing... or click on the unsubscribe link on that thread.

But now you’re subscribed to this (bad) thread, too!! You’re doomed.
The only solution is to not post at all.
Well, that’s not entirely true. You could start a fight that gets out of hand and the thread gets closed (don’t forget to post IBTL), but then you would need some kinda protection program.
Randy, I don’t see an unsubscribe link. I think the only way to unsubscribe is thru the member control panel. And that depends on unread replies, or something like that.

After a little research
Yes, the option to unsubscribe from one thread is part of Version 3+.
However, in the notification email you have been getting is a link to unsubscribe from that thread.

That's it!! Thanks RandyC. Your persistence is appreciated.
Yeah, I feel dumb for not having seen it. But, then again, when you get that email, who usually gets past the first link to the post?
Thanks again to all.
Now, how do I stop the emails from this thread.....?
LOL
