Can we put a link to our own site in our signature?

Generally it's ok if it isn't "advertising", rather just a personal site that you're proud of or it provides some information that you want to make available to other members. But a commercial site or a site that you're trying to steer members to in order to build up membership and/or page hits is not ok.
