I demand an apology from Get Me Cofee
Mods,
I've never asked you anything before.
Whenever I've made a mistake on these forums, I made up for it, one way or another. I even got a vacation once, for a heated remark.
However, this time I'm asking you directly for help.
It's in regards to this thread:
http://www.dvdtalk.com/forum/showthr...5&pagenumber=2
where Get me Cofee is going over the top.
I've asked him to apologize.
If he doesn't, please give him a vacation for a week, or whatever you consider proper.

Adam, if you look at the thread, a mod has already seen the post, and warned GMC about language. However, I'm asking GMC to be a "mensch" and apologize for unnecessary rudeness - hence this direct appeal for help, in case the guy doesn't follow suit.
On a non-related note... I see you're from Greenville, and I lived for a while in Columbia... tell me, what's the origin of this term 'Cackalack'? I kept hearing it from a bunch of people I knew there, but I thought it's something they had invented and were using exclusively...

Usually, I 'get over things', but this time it's just too much. And no, I didn't figure out it's a quote from a movie... "F### you" can also be a quote from a movie, but that wouldn't stop the mods from giving hell to anyone brave - or stupid - enough to use it.

Coupled with the groucho smiley leads me to think he was not being mean spirited in his reply to you, but just points out how easily one can misinterpret intent in a post, specially if the other person does not know you are quoting a cultural source.
Please Playitagainsam, reconsider the intent?

Hey Playitagainsam! Dude relax. I was just joking with you. I thought everyone knew that quote, well almost everyone. Plus with the groucho smile I thought for sure you would pick up that I was joking with you. You didn't need to run over here and "demand an apology"

Well, what can I say... you got me, I had no idea that was a quote. For an unsuspecting individual, who hasn't even seen that movie, that whole funk just fell out of the blue like a ton of bricks.
Sorry if I also seemed stuck-up and abrupt in my reaction, but I was taken aback by the entire episode.
