Not a bad idea - pretty soon there will be a thread discussing if the red and blue hues used on the Spidey-suit are accurate enough or how many times someone saw Spidey 2 after 6 pm w/ a girl, etc....

Seriously, it looks like almost half of the front page of Movie Talk is Spidey-related.

Good idea, CB.

I gotta agree with this...way too many Spider Man 2 threads cluttering up the Movie Forum

30 Helens agree: a Spider-man 2 sub-forum is a good idea.

There is about ten threads on the first page alone that have something to do w/ Spidey. It's only going to get worse as more people see it.

I'm sure this will die down in a day or two. No need for a sub-forum, just merge a couple.

It already seems to be calming down.

Nothing like LOTR, Star Wars, Matrix Reloaded etc. No where near enough discussion for a sub-forum.

Geeze - it's not like it's an event movie or something (a GOOD event movie, no less). It's normal to have a spike in activity, just like when Raiders came out or the Disney treasures hit the stands.

Give it through the weekend, and things will be back to normal.

After the stickies, 6 of the next 10 threads have Spiderman in the title ....

Its not getting better. And I think it will get worse over the weekend. A few of the threads could be merged and a subforum would be nice.

still, that's only a handful of threads, hardly enough to warrant a whole subforum. Especially when some of the threads just need merged.

A little heavier volume is to be expected for a big movie, but only a few movies with long histories, fan followings, and or deep stories/backgrounds like LOTR, Star Wars, etc. generate enough unique (i.e. non-mergeable) threads to sustain a whole sub-forum.

It wouldn't be so bad if there were actually that many things to discuss, but when it get's to the <i>"So ...did anyone actually get up and go pee during the movie?</i>" type threads, I just move on....

Exactly. It is just a normal, natural reaction for the fanboys to get all hot and bothered over a comic book movie. It will die down long before Spidey is out of theatres. We can't just have new sub-forums every time a big movie comes out.
