Ever had a post deleted on you?

I had one not just locked, but actually deleted! What does that mean?

It's a mistake. It means that you should start it again, but put it in three different forums this time. And follow up with an incredulous thread in Feedback.

Ask the moderator for the reason. It's better to know why so you don't get frustrated repeating the same mistake.

Assuming the post was actually deleted by someone and not a glitch in the forum software...

Sometimes it is necessary to remove a picture or part of a post that would either get an otherwise viable thread closed or moved to another (often times Adult) forum.

It can also mean that a post was inappropriate for the thread or forum that it was posted in and removing the inappropriate part of the post left nothing of the post. And it can mean that a post was inflammatory or worthy of a warning for some other reason but the poster was lucky enough to just have the post deleted by a moderator instead of getting an official warning.

Remembering what the post was and knowing that it was removed can be an opportunity to learn what is appropriate and what is not. When the poster can't figure that out themself it is best to ask for particulars in an email to a moderator who can ask around if they aren't the one who did it

I was just wondering because it was in the adult forum. I didn't think it was any worse than other posts I had seen there. If it was deleted by a mod, I was hoping for an explanation is all. If it was inappropriate then I would have expected it to be locked with an explanation is all.

I've seen posts deleted in the adult forum before. I think that some subjects can be kind of problematic but outside of outright illegal stuff (ie. under 18, bestiality), its kind of tricky to figure out where the line is sometimes (maybe because of varying opinions on what could be considered "obscene"?).

Sure, you can put a comma but putting that "i" in front would be such a burden.
