Link to Something Awful gave me a bug. HELP!!!

Yesterday on movie talk Nature Boy posted a link to a joke site (Isn't It Cool News) posted by **************.com

Well evidently this site gives people bugs when they link in from outside (har-de-har-har). The bug makes my computer go wild with pop ups every time I open my Internet Explorer. What can I do to get rid of this?

Best to run SpyBot and AdAware.

While I was on that site, all three of my optical drive trays opened for no discernable reason! Could something embedded there have caused that?

SpyBot can be downloaded here:

http://www.safer-networking.org/

If that doesn't help you, you can try running Ad Aware:

http://www.lavasoftusa.com/software/adaware/

Both programs are very easy to use, and scan your system for spyware similar to an anti-virus program. You might be shocked when you see how much junk is on your computer.

They both have auto-update features which I recommend you use before scanning your system.

I run both programs regularly.

It seems to me that it was triggered by my homepage. Any time I opened Internet Explorer or went to my homepage it would go crazy. So I reset my internet settings and it doesn't seem to be doing it anymore. I'll keep you guys posted.

I've visited that page twice and haven't had any problems. How many people are having this problem? And how are you linking to it... copying the URL?

I thought we should have all learned to be careful when linking to SA. Specially images.

I thought that SA was one of the sites we're not even allowed to mention.
