Is this really a censored word?

Kudos to OldDude for noticing first, but why is o-u-t-w-a-r censored, like the first part of the word that is the opposite to inward?

******d

Odd, eh?

Also, will I get pinged for trying to circumvent the forum censor?

Apparently 0utwar is an online game that inspired some spam-ish recruiting on the forums at some point. I'd imagine it's a banned word to prevent people from spamming, but I don't know for sure.

You are correct.

It was a temporary fix for a particularly bad spam attack last night. The problem has been taken care of and outwar is no longer censored.

Well, that's cool! Didn't realize it was such a sudden deal.

I mean, how sad is it if we can say words like shit or kvrdave but not outward...
