The first day, there was alot of "shit" tossed around - but I think it's died down some. The novelty has worn off - maybe we'll get to keep "shit" after all.

Well, after a few days of this I notice that 'shit' is a lot more common in threads, especially those frequented by the seasoned members of the board (who frequent this forum).
Would you attribute the increase in shit-use to the idea that this is how much people would use the word anyway, or the idea that people are using the word just for teh sake of being able to?
