Questionable Popup

http://a.rn11.com/fc/pu/fcint-pu.htm

I got that popup while in the music forum. True, its after hours, but isn't this a little tacky? And if you accidently click on it you get like 2 more popups, and an active install window.

You sure it was from here?

Try running Spy-Bot from http://spybot.safer-networking.de/

I've never seen that pop-up... and if it popped-up over your current window, there's an even better chance it wasn't from here. Geoff doesn't do pop-ups unless the ad campaign hinges on them, and when he does, he posts in here about it.

I hadn't seen it before either. I had no other browser windows open, and it showed up right as i entered the music forum. Just ran adaware6, and it didn't find anything. 0 questionable files.

If i have heard Geoff correctly, the popups are coming from some service, not anything he's set up personally, so it might be a new ad he's not aware of, and might want to filter out for the reasons i mentioned above.

EDIT: Static, It was a pop-under. Sorry. (forgive the mistake, ups and unders are one in the same to me)

Aren't those sorts of spyware popups tailored to the people whose computer they show up on? So they track your habits and notice what you are into, and what you like, and then put the appropriate popup that will attract your attention based on your history. I, for instance, get a lot of penis reduction surgey popups. It knows me all too well. Kinda scary really.

I like how computers take things so literally. People tell Gallant Pig he shouldn't be such a dick, and he gets penis reduction pop-ups.
