I would love to see a forum for coverart. It is very hard to keep up with the coverart thread, without visiting it a few times a day.

  -- I think it would become a new favorite stop of mine. :)
|
I'm definitely in!
Great idea  |
Yes I think a seperate forum would help a lot..........
And I vote for "Custom DVD Covers" as the name. |
Yup, good idea...
|
Add one more to the list of those in favor of a seperate forum.
Let's not use the word "custom" as part of the forum name, since there would some that are just straight up scans of current covers too. |
Originally posted by Tom Banjo Wow, that really is a great idea. I'd definately use it. It wouldn't create any copyright or otherwise legal issues/problems for Geoff, though, would it? |
I like the idea...lets do it.

I don't see the copyright issue here. We aren't selling anything. We are creating custom covers to make up for the sh*tty ones that are packed in with our dvds. And then we trade em. I think it is a non-issue.

Because FOX threatened them all with legal action. POOF! KOTH sites disappear in droves. You don't have free reign to use copyrighted material for whatever you want The "loophole" as I see it would be that DVDTalk.com would simply be a common-carrier and not hosting the pictures themselves. |
I think if the studios didn't want us to do this they would have spoken by now. Were on page 22 of the "Thread" & dvdcoverart has almost 2000 members now, like I said if it were a problem it would have surfaced by now

Count me in too! It's quite hard finding things in these threads - they go by so fast!!
|
It would be very practical when it comes to links for templates, logos and fonts needed for custom covers as well. You wouldnt have to search through ambigious threads trying to find the correct link.
I like the idea very much!!! DV |
I would also love to see this happen!
|
I like it!
Count me in. |
I'm in support of this issue. Most of my posts in DVDTalk are in the continuing thread.
|
Excellent idea. I've never once posted in those threads, but I would surely participate if it were more accessible. I don't do well digging through absurdly long threads, and I suspect others feel the same way. With separate threads and topics, we could follow the hobby without reading every single thread.
I could also see how such a forum would be a good draw for new members who would also be DVD consumers (unlike other forums which are less DVD related). das |
Dito!
|
Yes please! These threads are the main reason I visit the site at least once a day.
|
Any feedback from the powers that be here at DVDTalk? Might this happen or are we wasting our breath?
|
the fact that we're up to vol. 22 of the other thread should be enough evidence to warrant a forum.
|
I think we really need our own forum. Finding individual items is very difficult. Each thread is @10 pages long and we are on our 22 thread. It would make things more readily available and would do away with so much time spent searching for something we need and did not mark the thread number.
|
Seems like some good support here. Let me talk it over with the mods and see what we can do
|
Thank you Geoff :)
