Yes we have a lawyer who reviews all our legal info, contracts, rules and things like the Target email.

Basically the advice we got was that the DMCA isn't grounds to pull prices from the site, but the cost to fight a law suit by a huge corporation is so high that isn't worth the fight. Also when DMCA is invoked because we are protected by the DMCA Safe Harbor Provision, we have little choice but to remove the content and give the poster an opportunity to lodge a counter claim.

All in all messy stuff that doesn't need to be.

But after reading and listening to all the coverage, I think the stores in question have been portrayed as bullying online sites and that will hurt them in the long run

Geoff, I want to run this by you first:

Do we have legal right start up a thread in store forum and rally to boycutt Target? With all the crappy thing they done to this site, I think that's the least we can do.....

What do you think?

The only thing I would say is to still buy things they lose money on

The more money they lose the better.

There have been many boycott threads in DVDTalk's various forums. As long as you aren't libeling them (I think that's the right one) or breaking any of the forum rules, you should be fine.

At least, that was my experience when I was a mod....
