Stupid Question, but I just have to ask

I've been here for a couple years now, and I just finally decided to ask...at the risk of sounding stupid...BUT

Why do some people's posts have black boxes in them??? looks as if they are covering up part of the post.

Forgive me if this is a bad question to ask....but I just am tired of not knowing.

Read this thread: http://www.dvdtalk.com/forum/showthr...hreadid=156800

You can read the information in the black box by triple-clicking on the box (or drag-clicking through the box).

Often people post SPOILER information that some people don't want to read. So they DO cover it up.

You can post a spoiler message like this:

Spoiler:
This is a spoiler message.

You create one by using a "tag"... start the line with the tag SPOILER surrounded by square brackets --- [ and ] yielding:

[ SPOILER ] (no spaces)

You end it with

[ /SPOILER ] (no spaces)

These are used when someone is going to write details about a movie that is new, or things like that.

It's because they don't want you to see certain parts of what they type. They're not sure of what you know, and so they're suspicious of you. And rightfully so, IMO.

How do we know if we can trust you? [24]WHO ARE YOU WORKING FOR?!?!!! [/24]
