Is 'Other' Back to normal?

I know alot of people thought that after breaking off sports and mature, that other had taken a hit.
and it was definitly slower at that time
but as many pointed it, its just ebb and flow

I know I havent been in this forum as much anymore..
been spending alot of time in the sports forum.. especially addicted to smallball.. but anyways

Ive been peeking back in here more often lately, and it seems like the traffic and flow is pretty good again.. and the college students havent even gotten back to school yet.
that is when it normally picks back up..

so what does everyone else think..

agree now that it was just ebb and flow? or still feel like pulling those out had a lasting effect?

Other and normal should never be used in the same sentance.

I can't speak too much for Otter, but I'm very happy to see how the Sports Forum has thrived. I think it was a very positive move even if it did take some posts away from Otter. And as long as we don't split out Relationships, Religion, and Politics, Otter will continue strong.

From my view of things Other looks like it's back in the flow and the Sports forum has taken off considerably more than I had thought.

Since I haven't been around during the "busy season" yet I have no basis for comparison.

I guess you would have the numbers to support that.

Based on my casual observation, however, I disagree, based on the difference in time between the last posts of the first and last thread on the first page. In fact, I don't believe it would be too difficult for one to use pad posts to be the last poster listed in all the threads on page one. Before the split I don't think that could be done without doing something sneaky.

Perhaps, when the students return to their posting-instead-of-studying habits?

Gosh, I remember when merely mentioning the idea of the Sports Forum would have twikoff salivating, but was almost taboo to do. Thank goodness it all worked out.
